Our Curriculum
Thoughtfully Designed STEAM‑Focused Learning
The early years matter. Nearly 90% of brain development happens before age five, shaping how children learn and grow.
At Foundations, we honor this critical window with a research-based curriculum that balances intellectual challenge, creativity, and emotional well-being.
Every classroom is thoughtfully designed. Every experience has purpose. Learning unfolds through exploration, guided by highly trained educators who know when to lead – and when to step back.
A Balanced, Whole-Child Approach
Children thrive when learning supports the whole child – academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Through purposeful experiences, our curriculum nurtures:
Social-emotional confidence and self regulation
Language, communication, and early literacy
Cognitive and problem-solving skills
Physical coordination and independence
Creativity and self-expression
Every activity is intentional – designed to build confidence, independence, and school readiness.
Research-Based & Proven
Foundations proudly uses the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum®, an award-winning, research-based approach to early learning.
Children learn through hands-on studies – carefully selected themes that reflect children’s interests and encourage exploration, collaboration, and discovery across key learning areas, including literacy, math, science, the arts, and social development.
This approach builds confident thinkers who are curious, capable, and engaged.
STEAM Learning, Made Meaningful
At Foundations, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) is thoughtfully woven into everyday learning. Rather than memorization, children are encouraged to:
Ask questions
Think creatively and critically
Learn through hands-on, process-based experiences
Age-appropriate tools and technology are introduced with intention to enhance learning – never distract from it.
What is STEAM?
STEAM is more than an acronym – it’s a hands-on learning approach that sparks curiosity, encourages questions, and builds children’s problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
Exploring, observing, and discovering how things work.
Using tools and devices to learn, create, and communicate.
Building, designing, and solving real-world problems.
Encouraging creativity, imagination, and self-expression.
Recognizing patterns, counting, measuring, and making sense of numbers.
Language Enrichment: Spanish & Sign Language
Early exposure to additional languages supports communication, cognitive flexibility, cultural awareness, and greater ease speaking a second language later in life. Children are naturally introduced to:
Spanish, through everyday words and conversation
Sign language, empowering children to communicate before verbal language fully develops
These experiences are gentle, engaging, and integrated into daily routines.
Character Counts: Character & Literacy Development
Our Character Counts program blends early literacy with meaningful character development through thoughtfully selected children’s literature.
Children build foundational reading skills while exploring traits such as responsibility, confidence, respect, patience, and creativity.
Intentional Learning, Every Day
At Foundations, everything we do has purpose. Our curriculum supports your child’s growth today while preparing them for what comes next – with confidence, curiosity, and care.
Questions about your child’s learning? We’re always happy to share what we’re working on and why.
